Goggle maps, the best thing since Al Gore invented the Internet
A few days ago I took a trip down memory lane looking at some of the areas that I grew up in. (Illinois) On the slim chance that someday one of my descendents would like to explore where I spent many happy years I've posted a few screen shots that might be of help.

I've applied a number code that applies to each map.

#1  Today is a lake, in my childhood this was a farmers field

#1a location of one room school house I attended for eight years

#2 Was and is a large marsh/pond (as a boy I trapped muskrats in this marsh)

#2a Location of our home (at the end of a 1 mile lane)

#3  Railroad track

#4 Location of Dads sawmill 1940-1950

#5 Location of Dads Sawmill 1950-1964

#6 Location of Kenneth's accident

#7 From age 14-16 this was my range area (had 1st car at age 14)

#8 From age 16-18 this was my range, a standard joke in those days, mothers locked up their daughters if I was in town
My 1st car was like this one (1934 Pontiac), mine wasn't this shinny nor did it have whitewall tires, I found out real quick like that girls liked the car, but their Moms hated it. (weird)
