Now Charlie would sooner go fishing than anything else, one spring this old raft drifted into shore, Charlie took possession of it and with a long pole would use it to fish fairly close to the shore.
One day a north wind blew him out and down the lake. Jess saw him and yelled out to Charlie asking him where he was going, Charlie yelled back "Deerpark if you don't come get me" Deerpark
is about 25 mile south. notice that using the raft you were standing in the water-didn't make no differance to Charly

Irish Setter "Rough" a very faithful companion to Jess and Mom for many years, while I grew up with hounds as a kid, at the age of 19 Rough was my 1st experance with a dog that was not only smart but took charge of all family members and seemed to know beforehand if a situation was dangerous.

1955 Jess, Charlie, Mom and myself went on a fishing trip to Kelly Lake BC Canada. It was my 1st trip to BC and Kelly Lake in those days was a lake that stories are told about today. Wild hungry trout
rugged country with just a narrow dirt road leading to it. At that time attempts had been made to measure how deep it was, it was thought it was a old volcano or a huge sink hole.

1988 Jess, Mom and myself made a trip back to Kelly Lake, still rugged country, but the lake is part of a park now, has a good paved road and the fish in the lake are now planted each year.
